BodyDear Honourable Thomas Geisel,
I am writing to urgently draw your attention to the case of Arya Adavi, who is reportedly at imminent risk of execution in Iran.
This case is unfolding at a particularly critical moment. Recent reports indicate a sharp increase in executions during periods of unrest and conflict, often carried out under conditions of internet restrictions and communication blackouts. These measures significantly reduce transparency and limit international oversight at the most critical stages.
Aria Adavi, a 20-year-old student of metallurgy at the University of Sari, was arrested by security forces in Qarchak, Tehran, on 20 Dey 1404. Detailed information about her whereabouts, condition, and charges has not been released.
In such circumstances, the risk of irreversible injustice is greatly heightened, particularly given ongoing concerns regarding due process, access to legal representation, and the use of coerced confessions.
Public and timely international engagement is therefore essential.
I respectfully urge you to:
* Call for an immediate halt to the execution of Arya Adavi
* Raise this case urgently with EU institutions and diplomatic channels
* Advocate for transparency and independent monitoring, especially during ongoing communication restrictions
* Support continued parliamentary attention to the use of the death penalty under conditions of limited visibility

At a time when visibility is being reduced, international attention can be decisive in preventing irreversible harm.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
