BodyDear MEP Matthieu Valet,
I am writing to urgently draw your attention to the case of Mohammad Jamshidi, who is reportedly at imminent risk of execution in Iran.
This case is unfolding at a particularly critical moment. Recent reports indicate a sharp increase in executions during periods of unrest and conflict, often carried out under conditions of internet restrictions and communication blackouts. These measures significantly reduce transparency and limit international oversight at the most critical stages.
According to the report by the Human Rights Organization Hankaw, Mohammad Jamshidi, one of five Lor citizens from Yasuj, was arrested by government forces on Friday, 12 Dey 1404, during the Dey protests. No further information is available.
In such circumstances, the risk of irreversible injustice is greatly heightened, particularly given ongoing concerns regarding due process, access to legal representation, and the use of coerced confessions.
Public and timely international engagement is therefore essential.
I respectfully urge you to:
* Call for an immediate halt to the execution of Mohammad Jamshidi
* Raise this case urgently with EU institutions and diplomatic channels
* Advocate for transparency and independent monitoring, especially during ongoing communication restrictions
* Support continued parliamentary attention to the use of the death penalty under conditions of limited visibility

At a time when visibility is being reduced, international attention can be decisive in preventing irreversible harm.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
