This case comes amid a concerning escalation in executions during ongoing unrest and conflict, often carried out under conditions of internet restrictions and communication blackouts. These measures significantly reduce transparency and limit international oversight at the most critical moments. According to the report by the Human Rights Organization Hankaw, Mohammad Jamshidi, one of five Lor citizens from Yasuj, was arrested by government forces on Friday, 12 Dey 1404, during the Dey protests. No further information is available. The European Parliament has recently taken firm positions in response to repression in Iran, including its January 2026 resolution and related measures. At a time when visibility is being deliberately reduced, continued and structured engagement is essential. In that context, I respectfully suggest: – Considering sponsorship of Mohammad Jamshidi within a detainee advocacy framework to ensure sustained visibility – Raising this case with the EEAS and in parliamentary discussions – Supporting briefings or hearings with civil society representatives and legal experts on imminent execution cases – Encouraging coordinated attention to similar cases where executions may occur under restricted visibility When individual cases are consistently monitored by elected officials, the international cost of proceeding with executions increases.
