I am writing with urgent concern regarding Arman Ardam, who is currently at imminent risk of execution in Iran.
This case comes at a particularly alarming time. In recent months, Iranian authorities have intensified executions in parallel with widespread unrest and ongoing conflict. These actions are increasingly carried out under conditions of severe internet restrictions and communication blackouts, which limit transparency and prevent independent scrutiny.
Arman Ardam, 22, son of Ibrahim, originally from the village of Qazqapan and resident of Takab, was arrested by security forces in Shiraz on the evening of 24 Dey 1404. Arshad Ardam and Ramin Yousefi were released after a few days, but there is complete ignorance about the fate and whereabouts of Arman and Ashkan Ardam.
Credible reports indicate that detainees are often subjected to unfair trials, restricted legal access, and coerced confessions. When executions take place during periods of reduced visibility, the risk of irreversible injustice is significantly heightened.
In this context, international attention becomes one of the few remaining safeguards.
I respectfully urge you to:
* Call for an immediate halt to the execution of Arman Ardam
* Raise this case urgently with the European External Action Service and relevant EU institutions
* Advocate for transparency and independent monitoring, particularly during ongoing communication restrictions
