BodyDear MEP Anders Vistisen,
I am writing with urgent concern regarding Farideh Ketabi, who is currently at imminent risk of execution in Iran.
This case comes at a particularly alarming time. In recent months, Iranian authorities have intensified executions in parallel with widespread unrest and ongoing conflict. These actions are increasingly carried out under conditions of severe internet restrictions and communication blackouts, which limit transparency and prevent independent scrutiny.
Farideh Ketabii Miandoab, born in 1976, resident of Miandoab, mother of Sarah (Zahra Seddighi Hamedani), human rights and queer community activist. Arrested from her home by security forces on 7 Farvardin 1405, she is ill and has not been politically active. The family is unaware of her whereabouts and condition.
Credible reports indicate that detainees are often subjected to unfair trials, restricted legal access, and coerced confessions. When executions take place during periods of reduced visibility, the risk of irreversible injustice is significantly heightened.
In this context, international attention becomes one of the few remaining safeguards.
I respectfully urge you to:
* Call for an immediate halt to the execution of Farideh Ketabi
* Raise this case urgently with the European External Action Service and relevant EU institutions
* Advocate for transparency and independent monitoring, particularly during ongoing communication restrictions

Time is critical. When visibility is deliberately reduced, silence can enable irreversible harm.
Thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
