Ashkan Talebi Balakhyabani, 22 years old and a motorcycle courier, was arrested in Mashhad on 18 Dey 1404. After three weeks of silence, he called his family from prison and informed them of the death sentence. He is being held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. In January 2026, the European Parliament took a strong position against repression in Iran, signaling that such violations will not go unanswered. At a time when visibility is being deliberately reduced, continued and visible engagement is essential.
