BodyDear Małgorzata Gosiewska,
I am writing to draw your urgent attention to the case of Mostafa Mohammadhasan, who is currently at risk of execution in Iran.
This case is unfolding amid a sharp escalation in executions during ongoing unrest and conflict, often carried out under conditions of internet restrictions and communication blackouts. These measures significantly reduce transparency and limit international oversight at the most critical moments.
Master's student in Philosophy of Science at Sharif University, ranked 7th in the master's entrance exam, sentenced to 37 months in prison on charges of insulting the sanctities of Islam, spreading lies, and engaging in propaganda activities against the regime. On 4 Bahman 1404, he was transferred to Evin Prison after being summoned.
In January 2026, the European Parliament took a strong position against repression in Iran, signaling that such violations will not go unanswered. At a time when visibility is being deliberately reduced, continued and visible engagement is essential.
I respectfully urge you to consider:
– Publicly sponsoring Mostafa Mohammadhasan within a political or detainee advocacy initiative
– Raising this case in plenary, committee discussions, or with the EEAS
– Supporting efforts to maintain visibility, including hearings with human rights defenders or affected families
– Calling for an immediate halt to the execution and for full due process guarantees

When visibility is limited, international attention can be one of the few remaining safeguards against irreversible harm. Timely action in this case could be decisive.
Sincerely,
A concerned citizen
